Hot Hatha Workshop with Michelle Castillo, May 20 (Singapore)

Orchard Central
Saturday, May 20, 2017
11am - 1pm

Struggling with your Hot Hatha practice? Have you hit a plateau with the Bikram series? Or are you just curious why there are literal twists to traditional postures in the Hot Hatha sequence? This two hour workshop will help to demystify some of the main Bikram postures that we see the most struggle. Learn the physiological and psychological basis for the strengthening, detoxing, and mental focus of your Hot Hatha sequence, helping you to interpret the benefits of the practice.

This workshop is part of the May Yoga Journey.

About Michelle

Originally from Los Angeles, Michelle made her way over to the Little Red Dot eight years ago by way of Hong Kong and London, with a very loud newborn in arms. Seeking ways to balance mommyhood and a busy career working in television, she relied on the escape (literally) that she would get through yoga.

This ‘dirty little secret’ soon turned into passionate habit, inspiring Michelle to earn her Yoga Alliance certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa (RYT 200, ERYT 200) at Tirisula Yoga, and later a specialty certification in Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga (RPYT).

Now that her baby has traded undecipherable cries for primary-school tantrums, Michelle happily traded in her heels for bare feet, finding happiness in guiding others through their yoga transformation. Drawn to all things mother and child, Michelle is currently finishing her training as Birth and Postnatal Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator. She is also one of the few HypnoBirthing Fertility Specialist therapists, and Dunstan Baby Language Educators, in Singapore.

Yoga is everything to Michelle, and she loves to introduce the practice to those who haven't experienced the benefits. She is honoured to be a part of someone's yoga journey, and thankful for the moving meditation students give to her by having her guide them through their practice. Expect Michelle’s classes to be alignment-focused — she loves how one small change to asana or breathing can make a world of difference.

When Michelle is off the mat, you can usually find her clacking away at her keyboard as a digital marketing manager and content strategist for some of Asia’s best known publishers and agencies.
