Conquer your fear, go upside down, and deepen your inversions with various backbending techniques.

When practicing yoga, it is as important to build a foundation from the ground up as it is to go upside down. In this workshop, you will learn solid skills on how to perform handstand, headstand and some of their variations, with and without the help of a wall. You will also explore how the clever use of backbends and the wall can help you strengthen your inversions and open your world of inversions to a myriad of possibilities.

About Victor Chau

A curious mind took Victor to the yoga mat more than 10 years ago. Since then, he went on a journey through different schools of yoga – Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power and Yin yoga. In 2010, his dedication of yoga finally took him to Sivananda Kutir, spending four weeks in an ashram in the remote Himalayan region of Northern India, learning under the tutelage of Swami Vishnudevananda’s disciples.

An Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, Victor also completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training workshop with Sarah Powers in 2010. In 2011, he attended China Yoga Summit, which was conducted by Sri B.K.S Iyengar himself. He has also trained and worked closely with Donna Farhi, Claire Norgate, Cameron Tukapua, Max Strom, Patrick Creelman and Briohny and Dice Ilda-Klein. He was also the interpreter for Swami Mahadevananda, the senior director of Sivananda Vedanta Centres on his China tour in 2013.

With over 4000 hours of yoga teaching, Victor has lived in Beijing for six years, where he taught yoga in English and Putonghua. Now based in Hong Kong, he is also a qualified Pilates teacher and AntiGravity Fitness Instructor. Victor has run over 30 yoga workshops, retreats and teacher trainings in over 10 cities in China and India, specializing in inversions, arm balances and core strengthening, taught in a scientific and safe manner. Celebrated for his playful teaching styles attention to details, he is also a frequent guest teacher at many major yoga festivals and events in Hong Kong.
