DIY Aromatherapy Yoga Mat Spray

If you are a regular on the mat, either at home or in a studio, you might like to have this refreshing spray by your side.

I carry this little bottle with me wherever I go. Not only do I use this on my mat, it also doubles up as a body spray and air freshener. It even works as an insect repellent!

Here’s what you need:

A 60ml spray bottle
60ml- distilled water
1ml- emulsifier / witch hazel
A measuring cup
A glass or metal stirrer
An eyedropper
20 drops Essential Oil Mix

For the essential oil mix, it’s better to use organic products if you can. You want your mix to be pure and safe to use. This is one of my go-to recipes for an essential oil mix

1) 10 drops SPEARMINT / PEPPERMINT

This oil works as an antiseptic and antibacterial. It also helps relieve indigestion, gas, nausea, and it has a delightfully refreshing smell!

2) 3 drops PATCHOULI

This earthy scented oil works as an astringent, promotes cell regeneration and is an anti-inflammatory.

3) 7 drops of ORANGE / LEMON

These citrus oils have properties that can work as an antidepressant, antifungal and a sedative.

Be creative with you essential oil mix, but try not to use more than 3 types in your blend, so as not to crowd the benefits of each oil.

Note: For some people with sensitive skin, peppermint oil can sometimes leave a burning sensation. If this applies to you, do not spray directly to your skin.
